Baseco Medical Mission 2018

I met this kid 4 years ago. He was suffering from diarrhea and was severely dehydrated. I remember giving his lola my last money to buy ORS. Today we met again. His lola reminded me of that interesting encounter and told me: “thank you po sa pagbili nyo ng gamot dati. Nadugtungan buhay nya [thank you for buying him medicine last time. You extend his life]”.

Baseco 2018 Medical Mission and launching of Klinika Tomas. (February 18, 2018)

We started doing medical interventions in the area in 2014. We envisioned that through such activities we will soon be able to have a more sustainable impact on the health of the locals. Four years later, our vision is finally coming to a reality. Today, we did not only conduct free check ups but we also launched the Klinika Tomas with the aim of allowing greater access to medicines by the locals. For the first time in years, a community developer has finally joined us to help us organize our women towards empowerment.

I would like to thank all of those who have sent donations, provided services, shared my posts, and even wished the best for our advocacies. I share these pictures to you all as a testament of our continued work for a more equitable future for the residents of Baseco Compound.

To date we have done:
4 medical interventions
4 christmas parties for children
5 water wells
4 nebulizer stations
1 toilet
2 food supply intervention
1 medicine dispensary unit

Thank you for your trust!

Both her children have respiratory illness. Here is the Nebulizer that was donated 3 years ago. To date we still have 3 operational nebulizer stations in the area.
