Globalization has allowed for an increase in human interaction across borders which do not only entail the overlapping of cultural norms but also the exchange of values and traditions. Cross-cultural miscues are often the result of these exchanges. This book equips its reader with conceptual tools honed from the disciplines of anthropology, political science, and sociology that are useful in understanding the variance of human groups and their behaviors. Through the carefully designed discussions and activities, this book engages its readers to exercise a critical perspective in understanding pervading social issues of the contemporary period. It also provides a platform for its readers to apply the knowledge and skills that they have acquired here by guiding them through the process of ethnography and fieldwork.

Compliant with the goals of the k-12 curriculum, this book presents in modular scheme life-long learning skills and knowledge that are compatible with the requirements of industries and professions that students may opt to pursue careers in. Each module is creatively designed to accommodate multiple intelligences and to encourage collaborative work among peers.

It is the primary aim of this work to enable students to scientifically understand the changing world that they are part of in order for them to be well-adjusted and accepting individuals which would not only make them socially adept but also progressive thinkers.
